Tumors O F Blood Vessels
نویسنده
چکیده
Tumors of the blood vessels are perhaps as common as any form of neoplasm occurring in the human body. The greatest number of these lesions are benign angiomas of the body surfaces, small elevated red areas which remain without symptoms throughout life and are not subjected to treatment. Larger tumors of this type which undergb active growth after birth o r which are situated about the face or oral cavity, where they constitute cosmetic defects, are more often the object of surgical removal. The majority of the vascular tumors clinically or pathologically studied fall into this latter group. Benign angiomas of similar pathologic nature occur in all of the internal viscera but are most common in the liver, where they are disclosed usually a t autopsy. Angiomas of the bone, muscle, and the central nervous system are of less common occurrence, but, because of the symptoms produced, a higher percentage are available f o r study. Malignant lesions of the blood vessels are fa r more rare than was formerly supposed. An occasional angioma may metastasize following trauma or after repeated recurrences, but less than 1 per cent of benign angiomas subjected to treatment fall into this group. I Primarily malignant tumors of the vascular system-angiosarcomas-are equally rare. The pathological criteria for these growths have never been adequately established, and there is no general agreement as to this particular form of tumor. The multiple hemorrhagic sarcoma of the skin described by Kaposi may perhaps belong to this group. A small but interesting group of epithelial and neurologic tumors is characterized by an overgrowth of vascular elements. The so-called angiomas of the sweat ducts o r hemorrhagic basal-cell cancer, and tumors of the glomus described by Masson as angiomyoneuromas are of this type and may properly be included in a discussion of tumors of blood vessels.

Anterior Trans Cervicothoracic Approach for Complete Resection of Cervicothoracic Mediastinal Neurogenic Tumors
Introduction:Neurogenic mediastinal tumors comprise a wide range of benign and malignant diseases. A group of these tumors, located at thoracic apex, sometimes spread to cervical spaces causing numerous surgical difficulties. In thoracotomy approaches, due to proximity of the tumors to major blood vessels, complete removal of these tumors from cervical spaces is impossible or may cause intraope...
متن کاملComputational Investigation on the Effect of Changes in Halogenated on Afrin with Fullerene
In this research at the first Afrin drug or and its fullerene derivative were optimized. Afrin is a nasal congestion drug that acts by contraction of the blood vessels of the arteries and veins. Afrin acts directly on the nasal vessels. Eclipse of the blood vessels in your nose and the sinuses causes the water to be collected and the nasal congestion is reduced. And this medicine is used for co...
متن کاملAngiogenesis and Lung Cancer
Tumors acquire blood vessels by co-option of neighboring vessels from sprouting or intus‐ suscepted microvascular growth and by vasculogenesis from endothelial precursor cells [2]. In most solid tumors the newly formed vessels are plagued by structural and functional ab‐ normalities due to the sustained and excessive exposure to angiogenic factors produced by the tumor [3]. As a result of this,...
متن کاملارزیابی خاصیت آنتی آنژیوژنیک نانوذره نقره سنتز شده با استفاده از عصاره گیاه انجبار بر پرده کوریوآلانتوییک جوجه و ارزیابی مورفومتریک آن
Background & Aims: Angiogenesis is a key event during tumor growth. Since tumor cells require more oxygen and glucose than normal cells and due to tumors quick growth, new blood vessels rapidly increase to meet the nutritional requirements. Hence, targeting and inhibiting the formation of new blood vessels can reduce the nutrition and access of tumor cells to oxygen, which also inhibits tumor g...
متن کاملThe distribution of the anticancer drug Doxorubicin in relation to blood vessels in solid tumors.
PURPOSE Anticancer drugs gain access to solid tumors via the circulatory system and must penetrate the tissue to kill cancer cells. Here, we study the distribution of doxorubicin in relation to blood vessels and regions of hypoxia in solid tumors of mice. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN The distribution of doxorubicin was quantified by immunofluorescence in relation to blood vessels (recognized by CD31) ...
